Helping At-Risk Youth
In Illinois, suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death for 10–24-year-olds. Every 2 days on average a young person (ages 10-24) is lost to this “Silent Epidemic” of youth suicide. Did you know that in 80% of suicide attempts, we have an opportunity to recognize the warning signs and intervene? Obviously, the first thing you need to do, if you have not already, is educate yourself on the problem and how to recognize and assist at-risk youth.
